Launch of Imbewu Yesini Youth Poetry Collection

Friday, November 25th 2016 at 5:30 PM

Co-published by uHlanga Press, Lingua Franca Spoken Word Movement, and the Cape Youth Poetry Hub for Expression & Rhythm (CYPHER), “Imbewu Yesini” is a collection of poems by the youth poets who form the collective, the CYPHER (Cape Youth Poetry Hub for Expression & Rhythm). First written and performed as part of a poetry-theatre production directed by Koleka Putuma this past August, we now proudly present the book version of “Imbewu Yesini” for everyone to continue enjoying the nourishing, healing and brilliant words of some of Cape Town’s most exciting youth poets.

Come celebrate the book launch, enjoy a reading by all the contributing poets, and get your copy of the book before they sell out! Books will be on sale for R80.

About the book:
